What is a smart list, and how do I make one?

A smart list fills itself. You set rules, and PITTO shows every song that matches them. When a song changes, the list updates by itself. In the Catalog sidebar, smart lists are under Smart Playlists.

  1. Click + New Smart List… and give the list a name.
  2. Choose whether songs must match All or Any of the rules.
  3. Click + Add Rule. Each rule is a field, a condition and a value, for example Status is Pitch Ready, BPM greater than 120 or Added in the last 30 days. Click + to add another rule.
  4. Check how many songs match, shown at the bottom, and click Save.

You can make rules on Title, Writers, Status, Catalog, My Tags, Vocal, BPM, Key, Genre, Mood, Analyzed, Pitch Count, Last Pitched and Added.

To edit, duplicate or delete a smart list, click ⋯ next to it, or right-click it.

Not Yet Pitched comes with PITTO: it shows Pitch Ready songs that were never pitched. If you delete it, you can make it again: match All of two rules, Status is Pitch Ready and Pitch Count less than 1.

Other lists, such as Artists and Pitch Log, have smart lists too, under Smart in their sidebars.

Smart list or playlist? A smart list follows your rules and keeps itself up to date. A playlist is a set of songs you pick by hand, in your own order. See How do I make a playlist?.
